| I won't live long enough to do everything that needs to be accomplished. No one person can do it all. If you wish to contribute to knowledge about ancient copper, its prospecting, mining, crafting and use, Great Lakes Copper Research can use your help and there are many ways to contribute. |
|
1. You can donate information. Knowledge is power. Truth is light and we need more of both. You may have information gathered from your experience with copper artifacts. You may have facts we are unaware of. If you do, we will be happy to use that information and credit you for supplying it to the world. You can merely inform us of your personal observations. They may or may not be of value to us. Some of your observations have already been valuable. You can inform us of your findings. If you do, also provide us with your data, references, facts, the way you arrived at your findings, etc. 2. You can donate copper for study. Most of what we learn in our research is through the study of copper artifacts. Artifacts can be loaned or donated. Donations are the most valuable as we can return to them, time after time and that is often necessary in our research. On the other hand, a loan can sometimes be helpful. 3. Books and journals. If you have a book or journal on the subject of prehistoric copper that you would like to donate to our Great Lakes Copper Research library, it may add to our ability to do research. 4. Funds are needed for carbon testing, to purchase artifacts, books, equipment and supplies. God bless those who are generous enough and wise enough to contribute in this manner. 6. Research. Two can accomplish more than one and many hands make work light. Not many are at ease with research, but we can provide guidance. 7. Disseminating what we learn is as important as acquiring knowledge. Once we get to know and trust your ability, perhaps you can contribute in teaching others what is known about ancient copper. Many groups seek competent speakers, preschool to retirees. If you are a competent speaker, willing to represent Great Lakes Copper Research and its goals, we can provide information to teach. Much of it can be found on this web site. To teach, speak publicly, have to have an interest in the subject and understand Great Lakes Copper Research's goals and policies. You may think of other ways to contribute. Please contact us with suggestions. If you use our research, you must quote us accurately and professionally, giving us credit in the body of your document and or on your reference page. See How to use references .
